Amazingly easy-to-use

Bought this on a whim trying to find an easy and efficient way to shred cabbage for sauerkraut. I recently obtained a 5L Crock to ferment the cabbage. Using this wonderfully old-world device I was able to shred 3 heads of cabbage in less than 10 minutes. I am thankful that I purchased this shredder.

Very Well Made with Quality Materials

I haven't used this yet but it looks to be very well made and it arrived in less than a week. I bought it on the recommendation of two friends who have the shredder and absolutely love it. They make large amounts of cabbage. The large is quite large. Perhaps the medium would have been big enough.

I haven't used it yet because the directions said to first treat it with a food safe oil for cutting boards. I wanted to get the job done that day and only had a head and a half of cabbage so I treated the new board and then cut the cabbage up the old fashioned way, with a knife. It would certainly have been faster to use the shredder and it will come in handy for larger amounts of cabbage. It would be interesting to hear from others if the medium is large enough. I didn't see any reviews about which size to buy. P.S. It's a huge savings to make your own organic kraut. The one I made was ready in five days, just in time to serve with the Thanksgiving turkey.

Magical!

I usually don’t write reviews, but I bought the larger shredder last week and it is absolutely magical! It went through 60 pounds of cabbage in no time at all. I was gifted a 12 gallon kraut crock last fall and planted Filderkraut cabbage this spring…it would have taken approximately forever to cut the cabbage using any other tool. This shredder is well-built and I look forward to many more batches of sauerkraut in my future! Shipping only took 3 days which was pretty impressive, too. Thank you, Raw Rutes!

WOW, just WOW

I am so pleased with my slicer. I cut 9 pounds of cabbage in about 5 minutes. Clean up was very easy too. I would have loved for my Mom and Dad to have had one of these when I was a kid. It would have made canning so much easier for them.
